Meet your local firefighters at our fire station open days!
Find out more about how we work to keep you safe by visiting one of our station open days this summer.
They are a fun day out for people of all ages and a great opportunity for residents to find out more about us, meet their local crews, pick up safety advice as well as discovering what it is really like to be a modern day, professional firefighter.
Assistant Director James Palmer, Head of Response at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We’re delighted that after a two-year break because of Covid we are once again able to open our doors and give people a chance to see what we do to keep people safe across our county. Our open days are a fantastic opportunity for people to go behind the scenes, find out more about the different careers we have across our Service, get safety advice relevant to our area and of course have lots of fun too!
"We’ve already held some open days at our stations, and they have been really well received by local residents – we’ve had hundreds of people coming to see us and we look forward to welcoming many more.”
