Meet your fire service this summer

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is excited to be opening its fire station doors throughout the year to welcome the community to its station open days.

Throughout summer and autumn, fire stations across Essex will open to the public on selected dates. Families will be able to meet firefighters and staff, explore the fire stations and find out more about home, road and water safety.

As well as fire station open days, there will be lots more opportunities to meet your local firefighters and staff at community events across Essex.

From Pride events to local fairs and fetes, crews will be out and about throughout the summer giving safety advice in communities.

Area Manager Craig McLellan, Head of Response at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “Community events like our open days, fetes and Pride events really are the highlight of our year. We love opening up our world to show residents how we work to help make Essex safer and how we can all work together to keep each other safe.

“Open days are a great day out for the whole family with lots of activities, local stalls and lots of fundraising for causes close to our hearts. If you’ve never been to one, I’d encourage you to come along to one this year.

“If you’re heading to a local event this summer, take a peek at the guest list first and see if we’re there. We can chat to you about how you can be as safe as can be at home, on our roads and in and around water.”
