Fire Service starts collection for Ukrainian refugees
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has started collecting donations to be delivered to the Polish border for Ukrainian refugees.
The Service is reaching out to colleagues and residents in Essex to donate essential items for refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
Joanna Lisowska-Dyer, Fire Safety Officer at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is arranging for donations to be collected from Great Baddow Fire Station and delivered to the Polish border.
Rick Hylton, Chief Fire Officer at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “The events unfolding in Ukraine have left me shocked and saddened. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this conflict.
“As a Service, we want to play our part in keeping people safe and are collecting donations at Great Baddow Fire Station to be delivered to the Polish border to help refugees fleeing the conflict. If there is anything you can donate that can help, it will be gratefully received.”
Joanna Lisowska-Dyer, Fire Safety Officer at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “So far more than 250,000 Ukrainian refugees have crossed into Poland. All goods will be delivered to one of the eight reception points on the Polish-Ukrainian border.”

- Bandages
- Torches
- Toothbrushes
- Face masks
- Power banks
- Wet wipes
- Sanitary products
- First Aid Kits
- Army boots
- Cardboard boxes
- Pet food
