On-call firefighters are ordinary people with a want to support their local community. They live or work within five minutes of their local fire station and respond to emergencies when needed, Many people provide cover alongside their day jobs, shift work, family life, studies and even while they sleep, with their pager by their bedside, ready to respond whenever they’re needed.

On Call Liaison Officer Steve Perry said:

“Being an on-call firefighter is incredibly rewarding. You’re helping people at their most vulnerable moments, working as part of a team, and learning new skills along the way. At Stansted, we’re really proud of the work we do, but we need more people to join us. If you live or work close by and think you could respond to a pager, work hard and want to be part of something that really matters, we’d love to hear from you.”

If you’re over 18, physically fit, and live or work within five minutes of Stansted Fire Station, Chapel Hill, CM24 8AE, you could be paid to serve your community as an on-call firefighter.
