Chief Fire Officer thanks Tiptree Jam Factory for support during essential station maintenance

Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive Rick Hylton has thanked Tiptree Jam Factory for their support in allowing crews to respond from the site during essential station maintenance.

In December last year, the fire station was temporarily closed as its water main was replaced. During this time, the on-call fire engine operated from a site provided by Wilkin & Sons, the iconic Tiptree Jam Factory, located just 500 metres along the road.

This temporary relocation had no impact on the crew’s ability to respond quickly to emergencies, ensuring the same high standard of service to the local community.

The temporary use of the Tiptree Jam Factory site highlights the strength of community partnerships.

Station Manager Matthew Bannon presented the thank you letter on the Chief Fire Officer’s behalf. He said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to Wilkin & Sons for their continued support and generosity during these essential works. Their willingness to provide a temporary home for our fire engine ensured that we could continue to serve our community without disruption.”

Sarah Rogers from ECFRS Property Services, who is leading the project, added:

“This is an excellent example of the community working together to ensure essential maintenance can take place without impacting our operational response. We’re very proud to have such strong local partnerships.”
