Woman rescued from flooded road
Firefighters are urging drivers to avoid driving through flooded roads after rescuing a woman from Buttsbury Wash this morning.
Crews were called to Buttsbury Wash at 7:37am and on arrival reported that a car was stuck in the water with a woman inside.
Firefighters rescued the woman by 8am.
Watch Manager Andy Haswell from Brentwood Fire Station said: “Please do not risk driving through floodwater. It is often deeper than you think and it really doesn’t take much water for your car to be severely damaged or for your car to float out of control, putting your life at risk. If you come across a flooded road, don’t take any chances, turn around and find another route.”
