Road traffic collision: persons trapped

UPDATE 12.25PM

Essex Police has confirmed that a woman has sadly died following a road traffic collision in Boreham this morning.

A dark BMW 3 Series car was reported to have been in collision with a construction digger.

A 29-year old woman, believed to have been a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man and a woman, believed to be the driver of the car and a second passenger, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested.

Firefighters assisted at the scene of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle in Boreham this morning.

Crews from Chelmsford were called by the Ambulance Service to the A138, close to Junction 19 of the A12, today at 3.09am.

Crews used cutting equipment to remove two casualties from the vehicle and left them in the care of paramedics at 3.48am.

Road closures remain in place between Boreham Interchange and the junction between the A138 and Pump Lane.
