Road traffic collision: man freed

Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in West Horndon this evening.

Crews from Basildon and Brentwood attended after we were called by the Ambulance Service to help a man who was trapped in a car in Tilbury Road.

They used specialist cutting equipment to release the man, who was conscious and breathing, by 6.37pm. He was left in the care of paramedics.
