PHOTO: Outbuilding fire spreads to two bungalows

Firefighters were called to an outbuilding fire in Canvey early this morning that spread to two bungalows.

Crews from Canvey, Leigh and Rayleigh were called to Vaagen Road, Canvey at 12:12am.

On arrival, crews reported that an outbuilding fire was affecting two bungalows and requested a crew from Basildon to assist.

Firefighters worked to prevent the fire damaging the second bungalow and extinguished the fire by 1:18am.

The roof of one of the bungalows was destroyed and has rendered a family homeless.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place today.
