Oven fire caused by electrical fault
Firefighters have praised a family who acted quickly to get out of the house and call the fire service out when their oven caught fire in Leigh this evening.
Crews were called to Lymington Avenue, Leigh at 6:40pm after the residents reported their oven had caught alight.
The family had acted quickly to get out of the house, stay out and call the fire service out.
On arrival, crews reported that the kitchen was heavily smoke logged and extinguished the fire by 7:13pm.
Crews worked to ventilate the property and believe the fire was caused by an electrical fault within the oven.
