Man rescued from mud
Firefighters rescued a man who was stuck in mud on Canvey.
Crews from Canvey, Basildon and Leigh attended Rattwick Drive last night at 11.42pm after reports a man was trapped.
Leigh's Swift Water Rescue crew, working with Coastguards, used a sled to reach the man, who was conscious and breathing, by 12.32am.
They released the man, who had been trapped for more than two hours, and brought him back to the shore by 12.45am. He was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
