Man rescued after falling from roof
Firefighters rescued a man who sustained injuries after falling from a roof.
The Ambulance Service requested assistance today (Friday 3 September) at 10.14am after a man had fallen approximately 12ft.
He had sustained injuries and was trapped between wooden joists about 8ft from the ground.
Basildon firefighters helped paramedics to stabilise the casualty. Our Urban Search and Rescue team, based in Lexden, and Aerial Ladder Platform from Chelmsford also attended to assist in the rescue.
The casualty was rescued by firefighters using the Aerial Ladder Platform and left in the care of paramedics at 11.43am.
Crew Manager Steven Finn said: "We worked really closely with the Ambulance Service to make the scene safe for doctors and paramedics to care for the casualty.
"When he was stabilised, our Aerial Ladder Platform brought him to the ground.
"I'd like to praise crews who did a really professional job in challenging circumstances."
