Incident

Kitchen fire

Crews were called to a flat above a shop after reports of a fire.

On arrival firefighters reported that there was a fire in the kitchen and worked well to contain it to the single room, avoiding it spreading to other parts of the flat or the shop below.

Firefighters extinguished the fire by 8.58am and then stayed on to ensure the site was safe.

The flat has suffered significant smoke damage throughout and the kitchen has been destroyed by the fire.

Following a fire investigation officers have recorded the fire as an accidental electrical fire.
