House fire

Firefighters were called to a fire affecting two houses in Frinton on Sea.

When fire crews were on-route they reported seeing a large plume of smoke ahead, so called extra fire engines to help tackle the fire.

When firefighters arrived they ensured everyone was safely evacuated from the affected properties. 

Update 21:10hrs - Firefighters at the scene are urging everyone to keep the area clear so they can work to extinguish the fire safely

Update 22:00hrs - The fire is now out. Firefighters will remain on scene to check for hotspots. An investigation to find the cause of the fire will take place.

Station Manager Nick Singleton said: "This was a difficult fire to tackle, but our firefighters worked really hard to put it out as quickly as they could. 

"I'd like to thank Frinton Free Church who provided lots of refreshments to our crews while we were on scene. It was extremely hot, and the drinks were very much appreciated."
