Hay barrels alight

Update 5:30pm

Crews have been working with the farmer to break the stack up and extinguish the fire. 

The stack is now burning under a controlled burn with the farmer.

Update 1pm

Crews have remained at the scene throughout the day to monitor and extinguish hotspots within the fire. 

Crews are currently at the scene of a fire affecting hay barrels in Marshfoot Road, Chadwell St Mary.

Firefighters have been working with the farmer to break up the stack and extinguish the fire. 

Although the fire is under control it will take some time to fully extinguish it and make the scene safe.
