Firefighters rescue two dogs under shed
Meet Alfie and Belle, two Jack Russells rescued from under a shed by firefighters from Maldon Fire Station.
The two dogs had been playing in the garden when they ventured under the shed and could not get back out.
Firefighters from Maldon Fire Staton used air bag lifting tools to lift the shed up so Alfie and Belle could get back to their worried owners.
Station Manager Lee Hurst said: “Both dogs were unharmed and happy to have some cuddles with their rescuers afterwards.
“We know dogs love to sunbathe and explore the garden at this time of year. We also know that when they follow their noses, sometimes it can lead them into places they can’t get back from. Our advice would be not to put yourself in harm’s way to attempt to rescue them. Instead, call the RSPCA who will call us for assistance if needed.”
Could you be an on-call firefighter?
Maldon's firefighters are on-call firefighters; people who live or work within 5 minutes of an on-call fire station and are paid to protect their community.
If you live or work within 5 minutes of an on-call fire station, you could be an on-call firefighter too.
