Firefighters rescue man after car in collision with house

Firefighters rescued a man after his car went through the front of a house.

We were called to Duncan Road, Colchester today at 3.21pm and crews from Colchester (two), Coggeshall and our Urban Search and Rescue team attended.

Firefighters removed the rear seat of the car so they could carry the man, who was conscious and breathing throughout, on a stretcher.

He was left in the care of the Ambulance Service at 4.16pm.

Station Manager Ryan Ainger said: "Crews did a professional job in stabilising the vehicle and removing the man safely.

"Our Urban Search and Rescue team also carried out a structural assessment of the property."
