Firefighters rescue fallen horse

Firefighters were called to help a horse who had fallen over in its stable and was unable to stand.

Specially trained fire crews from Chelmsford Fire Station's Animal Rescue Unit attended the incident along with local firefighters from Hawkwell Fire Station.

The crews worked together to slide the horse out of the stable to an area where they could use the mechanical winch to safely pull the horse up to standing.

A vet was also in attendance to ensure the horse was calm during the rescue operation.

The horse was rescued by 12:30pm and left in the care of the vet and owners.
