Firefighters have continued working hard across the county today. Here are few more, although please note this is not a full list.

Large Fire in the Open
New Kiln Road, Colchester
Time of call: 12:01 14/08/2022
Attendance: 2 x Colchester, 1 x Clacton, 1 x West Mersea
PHOTOS: Firefighters worked quickly to stop a fire in the open from spreading to homes in Hillyfields, Colchester today.
Crews were called at 12.01pm to 200 metres of grass alight which had spread to hedges and eight gardens.
They extinguished the fire at 12.50pm. The cause of it is undetermined.

Firefighters were called to a small fire. It was extinguished by 1.08pm.

Firefighters were called to reports to trees on fire, caused by electrical cables. It was put out by 1.46pm. UK Power Networks in attendance.

Attendance: 1 x Hawkwell, 1 x Rayleigh Weir
Firefighters dealt with a compost heap on fire, measuring 10 metres by 10 metres. A farmer helped by using a digger to remove the compost. The fire was out by 11.54am and is thought to have been started accidentally.

Westbourne Grove, Chelmsford

Attendance: 1 x Great Baddow, 1 x Chelmsford
A garden shed was on fire at a house in Chelmsford. Crews extinguished the fire at 11.21am. The cause has not yet been determined, it could be either accidental or deliberate.

Attendance: 1 x Ongar
Crews attended a 10 metre by 5 metre field fire which was difficult to access. They used backpack sprayers and hose reels to put it out. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
