Firefighters clean 300 litres of diesel from road following collision
Firefighters were called to a Road Traffic Collision on the A130 at Benfleet at 6pm yesterday.
On arrival, three crews reported a coach was on its side across the dual carriageway. While nobody was trapped inside, crews worked to make the scene safe by clearing a large fuel spill. Firefighters worked to clean approximately 300 litres of diesel by 6:45pm.
Station Manager Mark Elliot said: “Thankfully nobody was trapped inside the coach. Crews worked quickly to clean a large amount of diesel using specialist kit we carry in the fire engines. Thank you to the drivers for their patience today while we dealt with this incident.”
