Fire in a grain burner
Firefighters were called to a fire in a grain burner at 3.25pm today at a premises in Station Road, Witham.
The fire was out on arrival but crews had to empty the 7m by 2m roaster of the barley stored inside and use a thermal imaging camera to make sure it wasn’t alight.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
The incident was attended by crews from Witham who are on-call Firefighters, who all live or work within 5 minutes of an on-call fire station and attend incidents.
