Fire in fish and chip shop
Firefighters were called to a fire in a fish and chip shop in Ingatestone last night (Friday 4 October).
The fire started in the deep fat fryer and quickly spread up the extraction system to the roof.
An additional four fire engines and one aerial ladder platform (ALP) was requested to help tackle the fire.
The fire was extinguished at 20:39hrs. Firefighters stayed at the incident for many hours used the ALP to check for any remaining hot spots.
All crews left the scene at 2am (Saturday 5 October).
The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental.
