Fire in agricultural building

Crews revisited the scene this morning. A fire investigation was carried out and the cause of the fire was accidental.

The fire is now completely under control and crews expect to stay on the scene for some time to make sure the fire is completely extinguished and the area is safe.
Officers will carry out an investigation into the cause as soon as possible.
Firefighters are at the scene of a fire in an agricultural building near Woodham Road, Chelmsford this evening.
On arrival, crews reported that the building was 100% alight.
Firefighters are using an aerial ladder platform (ALP) to reach the fire.
Group Manager, Stephen Osborn said: “Crews have worked extremely hard to get the fire under control.
“As the smoke is drifting to nearby properties, we ask anyone in the area to keep their windows and doors shut whilst we continue to extinguish the fire.”
