Fire affecting two cars and outbuilding

Crews have extinguished a fire affecting an outbuilding and two cars in Stondon Massey.

Firefighters from Brentwood, Chelmsford, Billericay and Loughton were called to Chivers Road tonight at 11.21pm.

They extinguished the fire by 12.38am but remained at the scene to damp down and check for hot spots.

Station Manager John Lloyd said: "Crews did extremely well, in difficult conditions with no water supply, to quickly get the fire under control."

The cause of the fire has been recorded as deliberate.
