Fire affecting caravan and containers

UPDATE 12.22am

The fire has been completely extinguished and crews are checking for hotspots.

A crew will return to check the scene later this morning.

The cause has been recorded as unknown.

Steady progress is being made at the scene of a fire affecting a caravan and four containers.

Crews have accessed and emptied the containers and are turning over and damping down the contents to stop the fire from spreading.

Crews are tackling a fire affecting a caravan and containers in Upminster.

Firefighters from Grays, Orsett and Wennington attended Dennises Lane this evening at 9.53pm.

A fire had spread from a caravan to various containers - the contents of which are not known at this stage.

All persons are accounted for.

Due to the remote location, a water bowser from Corringham - a specialist vehicle with a large tank of water - was requested and a water relay was set up.
