Field fire in Aveley
Firefighters were called to a field fire on Sandy Lane, Aveley at 3.45pm this afternoon.
On arrival, crews confirmed there was a fire near a farm, which was spreading quickly across dry grass which surrounded it.
Essex and London firefighters worked hard to stop the fire spreading further across fields, with 4 fire crews initially attending before more fire engines were called to ensure the fire could be surrounded quickly.
The fire was out by 6.20pm, with crews working to extinguish the remaining hotspots. No-one was injured.
