6 cars and burger van destroyed in fire
Firefighters were called to the scene of a large fire in Henham on Monday evening.
Crews reported on arrival that six cars, a burger van and around 5% of a nearby building, which measures roughly 10 metres by 20 metres, were alight.
Firefighters worked hard to contain the fire quickly and prevent it spreading further to nearby fences and trees. The fire was extinguished completely by 11.42pm.
Station Manager Scott Meekings said: "Firefighters have done an excellent job of controlling this fire so well - particularly in making sure the building itself avoided any significant damage.
"While sadly the vehicles have been destroyed, this could very easily have become an even more significant incident without such a professional response from our crews."
The cause of the fire is not known.
